Sue Mogg - Regional Adviser

As an independent educational consultant, Sue Mogg is supporting 16 local authorities in the South West region as their schools implement workforce reform and develop extended services. Her experience across education includes headship of a Beacon school, Early Adopter School for remodelling and School Centred Initial Teacher Training. Sue is an experienced facilitator and assessor for New Visions, National Professional Qualification for Headship, Leading from the Middle and the higher level teaching assistant programme. She is also a National College Consultant and has experience as a local authority advisory teacher. She recently gained the Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) Professional Certificate in Education and Children’s Service Development. Sue has been a regional adviser for five years, initially for the National Remodelling Team and most recently the TDA.

Vince Stroud joined the National Remodelling Team (NRT) as a regional adviser in April 2004. He continued in the role part-time, contracted from his own company, Educational Leadership, when the NRT joined forces with the TDA in March 2006.  He works with eight local authorities in the South West and is actively involved in education training, coaching, leadership development and professional development work in schools. His current work covers the Every Child Matters and Extended Schools agendas, development of the whole school workforce, performance management, remodelling and the continued development of the national agreement. Prior roles include two headships and chief executive of a leadership organisation in the South West. In parallel with his education career, Dr Stroud has completed Doctorate of Education, Master of Science and Master of Philosophy degrees.

 

Dave Hobbs - Regional Adviser / Regional Trainer

Dave Hobbs has more than 30 years experience in primary school teaching and management, specialising for the past six years in local authority continuing professional development (CPD). As part of the local authority succession management team, he instigated the early professional development programmes and had responsibility for local authority CPD. His training background encompasses many TDA programmes, including the higher level teaching assistant, support work in schools, and national vocational qualification programmes. As a regional adviser, he works mainly on CPD programmes and with Local Social Partnerships. Dave’s wealth of experience also includes work as a school governor, Initial Teacher Training external moderator and examiner, developing Foundation Degrees, advising schools on value for money, and service as a Magistrate and Youth Magistrate.

Gwen Cavill - Regional Trainer


Using highly developed facilitation skills and methods, Gwen designs and delivers leadership development programmes for aspiring and experienced head teachers. She works with a range of clients to review performance management for individuals, teams and organisations.  Gwen is also involved with national organisations working on change management and its key importance in the shifting of culture to meet future demands in education.  The main areas for Gwen’s work are in Leadership development and performance, Strategic leadership and governance.

 

 

Helen Donnellan - Regional Trainer


Helen works with organisations and individual leaders in education, commerce and across the public sector as an external assessor, facilitator and coach.  Her focus is to build the effectiveness of the organisation by developing leadership.  She is an experienced facilitator, assessor, coach and educational leader.  Helen works internationally on school reviews and developing leaders.   In the UK her current work is with the Council for British Teachers (CfBT), Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) and the National College for School Leadership (NCSL).

 

 

Jane Collings - Regional Trainer


Jane is an independent adviser in learning, development and change management in the context of education, the not-for -profit sector and enterprise. Jane has experience of both further and higher education through working at the interface between education, enterprise and the not-for profit sector. Jane is an Investor in People practitioner and an external evaluator in a wide range of sectors. In recent years she has been involved in projects in governance, workforce remodelling and work life balance.

Steve Lloyd - Regional Trainer

Steve has over 30 years of experience in Schools and Higher Education in the UK. This included Deputy Head teacher, and acting Head in 2 Secondary schools. Whilst in Higher Education he led a number of major external and internal collaborative learning development projects, including facilitating the introduction of the South West’s first Innovation Lab, iSpace at University College, Plymouth, St Mark and St John. Steve's current work includes freelance facilitation activities on behalf of the Training and Development Agency for Schools, the National College of School Leadership, and the Children’s Workforce Development Council.
