South-West CPD Leadership Development Programme


The 16 Local Authorities in the South-West of England have been working together for 3 years to support the development of CPD Leaders and other line managers with responsibility for the professional development of their colleagues.  This work has taken place in consultation with schools and has been funded in 3 phases by the Training and Development Agency (TDA).

 

Objectives


The objectives of the project are:

 

  • to develop skills in evaluating the impact of CPD on school improvement
  • to develop understanding of the changing agenda for CPD and CPD leadership in schools
  • to support CPD leaders in identifying and addressing the CPD needs for schools and individuals
  • to enable CPD leaders to support colleagues in their career development
  • to support CPD leaders in developing the culture of continuing professional development in their schools
  • to develop skills for a strategic planning of CPD for school improvement

 

Materials

By following the links you will find the following training materials in 7 modules. These materials are for you to adapt and use in your own settings. (Please respect the copyright of the branded slides).  Each module is designed to take approximately 2 hours and comprises power point slides; facilitator delivery guide and supporting materials. In addition there are materials developed in phase 1 which will be revised and incorporated into the 7 modules later this year
